Arianna Huffington meeting with members of the event launch and communications team
On May 26 Colour’s team delivered public relations and event management support for the launch of The Huffington Post Canada with AOL Canada.
The Huffington Post, launched in 2005, is the most linked-to blog on the web. An average of 1.5 million Canadians visited the site each month, so it made sense for Canada to host the first international version of the site. Together, AOL, the Huffington Post Media Group team and Colour’s PR team helped shine a spotlight on the Huffington Post Canada go live.
Colour’s PR team worked with AOL Canada to develop the media strategy, coordinate a media round table, hosted by AOL Canada General Manager and Graham Moysey and Arianna Huffington who was in Toronto for the launch of “HuffPo Canada”. Additionally, Colour worked with Arianna’s PR team to coordinate media interviews for Arianna and provided AOL Canada with overall planning and launch day events support.
The Huffington Post Canada launch garnered media coverage in Canada’s top-tiered media outlets including The Globe and Mail, National Post, Toronto Star and other notable print pick-up in Vancouver and Montreal. Broadcast coverage included CBC Connect with Mark Kelley and Canada AM.
Based on the outstanding national media coverage and the positive feedback from our client, The Huffington Post Canada launch day was a huge success. The new Huffington Post Canada changed the online media landscape overnight and Colour is proud to be part of its introduction.
